MATARILE COMPUTACION

In 2000, I had the opportunity to design and lead the beginnings of a small IT company in Venezuela. Over the years this very successful start-up allowed me and my associates the opportunity to expand, and even franchise it, replicating the initial success. Matarile Computacion still exists 15 years later. It started as a little Informatics Store and IT Service Center, as well as a Communication Center and IT Academy. To further my career goals and develop my business acumen, I had to move to a more stable country with more predictable markets.

Portfolio

TRIPLE

Triple Contact Center Integration

Two Cloud Solutions and one Premise Solution for Contact Centers joined through complex three band providers, SS7/Somos, and Cloud SBC. All encrypted with SIPS and SRTP to the highest standard, including several considerations and extra applications for live monitoring. All this permitted for a smooth transition, allowing several States across the US to communicate seamlessly. This solution was original. It included Azure, AWS, Genesys, Cisco Cubes, Audiocodes, and Cyara.

SR

Getting There/Road to Segment Routing

Introducing MPLS in the enterprise, not to mention the final goal of introducing proper Segment Routing at the Enterprise Level may have never happened for this big company unless there was a commitment to globalize the routing standards. It was one of the challenges with too many layers. Seeing the horizon through the eyes of younger engineers, who were still consuming new CLOS technologies was emblematic of the need for changes after several decades of old-fashioned routing standards. Segmentation the right way collided with SASE limitations at the end, but the door was open now waiting for a new champion and new fights.

FAT

Factory Acceptance Test Room

The FAT Room was an environment capable of segregating effectively at the logical and physical plane several Realms, each one representing independent industrial projects. This very complex scenario forced the whole infrastructure of the company to adapt to it, sharing resources in the LAN/WAN/Wireless/Application and VPN. Automation Engineers were able to simulate whole Industrial scenarios without endangering other projects, and accessing any of them, securely, from anywhere inside or outside the company.

MOCCA

M.O.C.C.A.

Mocca was an ambitious project designed to agglutinate all Collaboration and Telephony Application that the biggest Worldwide Airline needed after merging USAirways and American Airlines, with the collaboration of AT&T, HPE and Verizon. Expanded over 4 years, this project is supposed to change the way the company communicates internally and externally.

DHL

Low Level Design – DHL – Europe. Telefonica.

As part of Telefonica's plan of implementation for more than 2000 sites, I had the LLD responsibility. I had to oversee LLD planning and then help with the execution. An important feature was the validation of High-Level Design and the processing of raw data from the AS-IS to transform the setup of the customer to a complete WAN/LAN/VoIP solution for all the Business Units of DHL. This was achieved using Telefonica's own MPLS cloud. Solutions were implemented on a per-country basis, which turned out to be several complex scenarios. LLD provided extensive, deep, and involved support to presales, provisioning, managing, migration, and configuration teams.

NSN

High-Level Design and Special Projects – Nokia Siemens Network – Global. Telefonica

MPLS/BGP, multiVRF, and VoIP services transformation design and support. LAN/WAN documentation and design and support for configuring teams at high- and low-level design for Data and VoIP solutions for all branches and Data Centers around the world. Interconnection with other vendors through NNIs and support to Operation teams.

Gonvarri

VideoConference. External Consulting for Gonvarri. Fibratel.

International deployment for Cisco Tandberg Video devices over Radvision infrastructure: Scopia video management, Scopia Gatekeeper, Firewall Traversal, ISDN Gateways, MCUs.

ICM

VoIP Networking - Informática Comunidad de Madrid. Fibratel.

Implementation and deployment planning for MPLS/Switching solution for large deployment of voice messaging infrastructure. Full LAN/QoS implementation.

Fibratel

Virtualization - Migration and Splitting Of DataCenter. Fibratel.

Upgrading, updating, and migrating several hosts in two different data centers schemes. One for production, another for Laboratory and Research. Most of the machines are virtualized on demand. Different NAS over SAN, iSCSI and diverse supervisors made this project not as big as complex. Includes several environments, types of hosts, VM demands and types of guests, and interconnections.

UM

Networking – University of Mondragón. MCCTelecom.

This project included complete electronics at all levels, from Edge deployment in the Data Center to hybrid remote PoE stacks for antennas, in a complete on-campus three-layer setup. Advanced design for VLANS, VTP domain, STP advanced configuration, all distributed with intelligent pruning, ACLs, 802.1x over a Radius with IAS MS Server for dynamic VLAN assignation over cable, fiber and wireless. In the Core, we used 65xx with dual supervisor. Distribution over redundant 10Gb optic cable. Balanced WLC 5508 for controlling 50 Cisco 1140 antennas and finally a virtualized CiscoWorks Lan Manager Solution cluster 3.2 under Windows 2k3 to control full network implementation.

blank

Security - Perimeter Security renovation – (major transport company). MCCTelecom.

In this project we planned, implemented, and monitored the internal and external security for the perimeter security. Almost all devices used Astaro UTM series equipment in a cluster, from 120 to 220 and clustering of 320. Over six minor branches and 2 important external centers, one in Bordeaux, France, and another in Chicago, USA. Several types of VPNs and accesses. SSL external gateway of Array Networks. One Astaro Command Center server, and some other wireless services. (For security, this customer name and link were omitted)

Torrelavega

Total Solutions - VoIP, Wireless, security, and Networking – Torrelavega's Townhall. MCCTelecom.

This project covered almost all networking and system technologies, except the virtualization of servers in the Data Center. Basic telepresence implementation. Complex switches setup, one circuit covering the city's intracity metro-lan implementation joining the town hall with other major branches. Tertiary branches tied up with IPSec VPNs on 5505 and ASA 5510 devices. Cisco Communication Manager cluster (7.1.5), for different telephone models and protocols (SCCP and SIP) and Tandberg cameras with H323, several ATAs for legacy faxes. Two Cisco proprietary VoIP Services on servers. It has Unity Connection working as an IVR, AA, and mailbox. (two other services planned). Redundant wireless WLSE with 20+ autonomous antennas, roaming of phones included. Plan to upgrade delivered.

Apia21

Managing complete Cisco VoIP Services – APIAXXI. MCCTelecom.

This project includes one cluster of Cisco Communication Manager Servers, Unity over Exchange, and Presence server. VoIP recording server from Zoomint. IVR server from Stonevoice. Cisco Attendant Console Enterprise server with several consoles. Local and remote Cisco TDM/CUBE gateways. CUBE for Skype-Out services. Communication Manager Express at remote branches, including international dial-plans for TEHO and TollBypass. Cisco SMBs (Linksys PBXs and UC5XX) systems at remote places. Integration for non-Cisco external SIP vendors and PBXs. All was tied together with VPNs over UTMs Astaro and EasyVPN over Cisco. All working together over HP Proliant networking equipment.

About

Motivation

I am a highly motivated Network and VoIP/Collaboration Architect and Engineer, an experienced Project manager in the field, and a hands-on all-around IT player. I love to create solutions that nobody has thought of before, thinking outside the box and sometimes risking just enough to help projects thrive to the next level. My proudest achievement is to be considered by past managers as a game-changer individual, which has been a constant in my approach to doing things.
